	The Sefer Beer HaGolah is a halachic work which discusses the halachos of Eretz Yisrael, the application of Kedusha Rishona and Sheniyah, measurements and construction of Mishkon Shiloh, the 1st and 2nd Beis HaMikdoshim and their vessels, the avodah of the kohanim, the laws of wars, the belief in the coming of Mashiach, and the laws of korbanos. It is written by one of the great Acharonim whose name is not known to us (in the book he is referred to as Pilai, which is a reference for anonymous authors), and contains notes of Rabbi Reuven Rapaport from Tornepol. 	The Sefer Emunos VeDeos is a classic philosophical work written by Rav Saadiah Gaon in the 9th century. It discusses the basic foundations of Torah and Judaism. This is the 1st edition of this sefer, published in 1562, in Constantinople. This is the only complete printed edition untouched by Christian censorship. 	This is a kabbalistic commentary on a small part of Sefer Bereishis attributed to Rabeinu Yosef from the City of Shushan. He should NOT be confused with Rabeinu Yosef Ben Shushan who wrote a commentary on Pirkei Avos. (See #12 below.) The text of the orginal manuscript has been distributed over the internet by the editor, Charles Mopsik who has published it with a French translation and commentary in 1998 under the title, Fragment d'un commentaire sur la Genese par Joseph de Hamadan Traduit de l'hebreu par Charles Mopsik. 	This is an excellent biography about Rashi - Rabeinu Shlomo Yitzchaki, who wrote the two most basic and famous commentaries on the Torah and the Talmud, by Maurice Liber. 	Both Sivuv Rabeinu Pesachia MiRegensburg and Masaos Rabeinu Yakov Bar Nesanel are travel diaries of two great rishonim who have walked across Europe and Asia to go to Eretz Yisrael. They discuss different Jewish communities that they visited on their way, Graves of Tzadikim where they prayed, and the situation, boundaries, places and some halachos of Eretz Yisroel. Sivuv Rabeinu Pesachia MiRegensburg was written by Rabeinu Yehuda HaChasid, the auther of Sefer Chasidim upon the return of R' Pesachia from his trip, as R' Pesachia told him over the whole story. This is a very rare edition published by Rabbi Elazar HaLevi Grunhut who was a Rav in Hungary. It contains his notes on both of these seforim, as well as a general overview of these seforim written in German, printed at the end of this edition. 	Masaos Rabeinu Binyomin MiTudela is a travel diary of one of the great Rishonim, Rabeinu Binyomin from the city of Tudela that he recorded on his trip around then known world, that took place during the years 1165 - 1173. He journeyed from his native Navarre through the greater part of the then-known world. He visited about 300 cities including Rome, Constantinople, Alexandria, Jerusalem, Damascus, Baghdad and beyond, meeting their Jewish communities and recording his impressions of their governments, customs, traditions, professions and products. He also discusses graves of tzadikim where he prayed, and the situation, boundaries and places in Eretz Yisroel as well as some halachos. The Hebrew edition is one of the earlier editions of this sefer published by the Tzifroni family in 1583. The English translation, published under the title, The Intinerary of Benjamin of Tudela, is the first translation of this sefer by Dr. Marcus Nathan Adler published for the first time in 1840. This edition is the revised edition of the original translation republished with extensive notes in 1907 by the author. Adler's edition also contains the Hebrew original text with extensive notes in the back of the book. We have included an additional colored map of R' Binyomin's travels together with the English translation, besides the map of the region that came with this edition. 	The commentary of Rabeinu Shlomo Bechor Yosef Sirillo on Yerushalmi Berachos is the second oldest commentary on Yerushalmi available. Rabeinu Shlomo Bechor Yosef Sirillo was a very early Acharon from Spain which he left during the expulsion of 1492. He settled in Tzfas in Eretz Yisrael where he was a rabbi together with his great contemporaries, Rabeinu Yosef Karo, the Arizal and many others. His commentary on Talmud Yerushalmi covers the Seder Zerayim and Masechta Shekalim. Rabeinu Shlomo Bechor Yosef Sirillo commented specifically on the Yerushalmi from a practical consideration of halacha, which resulted from his settling in Eretz Yisrael, where the agricultural laws applied to a much greater extent than in the Diaspora. It is one of the best commentaries to the Yerushalmi and is very unique in its style and approach. This is the first edition of Masechta Berachos, printed in Mainz in 1875. Besides his commentary, this editon contains girsaos from the Venice edition of the Yerushalmi, a commentary Meir Nesiv by Rabbi Meir Lehman and has very extensive haskamos by many of the gedolim of the end of the 19th century and inroductions to his perush and Yerushalmi. 	Devarim Atikim is a compilation of 6 different very short seforim printed together by Yitzchak Izik Ben Yakov. It contains the following seforim: 1) Explanation of 90 words by Rav Saadia Gaon written in a form of a dictionary. 2) Iggeres HaMusar of Aristotle translated by Rabeinu Yehuda Alcharizi which is a famous philosophical book often mentioned by the Rambam. 3) Shem HaGedolim by an Anonymous Author, which is a list of names of different Rishonim and how they were related. 4) Kevutzas Kesef by Rabeinu Yosef Ibn Kaspi, which is a list of seforim written by Rabeinu Yosef Ibn Kaspi. 5) Meleches Shlomo by Shlomo Zalman Verbluner, which is a compilation of comments on various seforim of Rabeinu Yosef Ibn Kaspi. 6) Sefas Chachamim by Aaron Yelinek, which is a dictionary of difficult Persian and Arabic words found in the Talmud and Midrashim. 	The commentary on Pirkei Avos of one of the great Rishonim of the 13th century, Rabeinu Yosef Ben Shushan has been relatively recently discovered in a single existing manuscript in the British Museum, although it is mentioned in many seforim of the Rishonim. Rabeinu Yosef Ben Shushan was a great Mekubal and an opponent of Greek philosophy. In his commentary he argues on the Rambam and others who supported Greek philosphy, on many points. His commentary is kabbalastic in nature and shows Pirkei Avos from a very unique point of view. 	Sefer Emunah Ramah, known in English as Sublime Faith, by Rabeinu Avraham Ibn Daud was written in 1168 and is the first major work that adopts ARistotelian philosophy and reconsiles it with Judaism. Prior to the Raavad I, the Jewish philosophers, who adopted Greek philosophy (such as Rabeinu Shlomo Ibn Gabirol in his Sefer Mekor Chayim) used the Neo-Platonic system, which was the philosophy of Socrates. Sefer Emunah Ramah had a major influence on the Rambam and his seforim. 	Sefer Keshes uMagen by Rabeinu Shimon ben Tzemach Duran is the fourth chapter of the second part of Sefer Magen Avos, Rashbatz's main philosophical work. It contains polemics against Christianity and Islamm showing the correctness of Judaism. Sefer Milchemes Mitzva by his son, Rabeinu Shlomo ben Shimon Duran, was written with the authorization of the Rashbatz. In it Rashbash, repulses the accusations against the Talmud made by the apostate Joshua Lorki (Geronimo de Santa) and makes counterattacks against the Christian clergy. This edition is the first and only edition of Sefer Milchemes Mitzva. Сефер Keshes uMagen Рабеину Шимоном Беном Тземаком Дераном - четвертая глава второй части Сефера Magen Аво, главная философская работа Рашбатза. 	Both seforim, Ateres Zekeinim and Tsuros HaYesodos, by the great Rabeinu Don Yitzchak Abarbanel were published together in Sabbionetta in 1557. Ateres Zekeinim is a sefer that discusses the concept of Divine Providence, especially as it affects the Jewish People and the Land of Israel. Tzuros HaYesodos is a brief treatise that analyzes the views of the Rishonim, and Greek and Muslim philosophers concerning the four basic elements: fire, water, air and earth. This sefer is Abarbanels first work that he wrote in his early twenties. 	In the Sefer Rosh Amanah, Abarbanel defends the 13 principles of faith of the Rambam against his critics, Rabeinu Yosef Albo in Sefer HaIkkarim and Rabeinu Chisdai Ibn Crescas, who had a different count and a different list of the principles. The Abarbanel also challenges the whole concept of having principles of faith, arguing that all of the Torah is the same without some parts of it being more important than others, in which case all the concepts and mitzvos in the Torah have the same weight. This is the first editon of this sefer published during Abarbanel's life time. 	Rabeinu Shaul Cohen Ashkenazi from the island of Crete, who was a student of Rabeinu Eliyahu Delmidigo, sent Abarbanel a letter asking him 12 questiones on the Rambam's Moreh Nevuchim. Sefer Shailos contains the original letter and the Abarbanel's response, as well as a separate commentary of the Abarbanel on the structure of Moreh Nevuchim. This is the last sefer that Abarbanel wrote, at the age of 70, right before his death. At the end ofthe sefer Abarabanel also lists all of the seforim that he wrote. This edition is extremely rare, as it is the first and only edition of the Sefer Shailos. At the end of this edition a few other short commentaries on the Rambam's Moreh Nevuchim have been printed under the title, Ketzas Biurei MeHaMoreh, by Rabeinu Moshe Ben Yehuda Nagri, Rabeinu Avuvchar Ben Machmud Atbarizi and Rabeinu Yosef Gikatalia, the student of Rabeinu Avraham Abulafia and the author of Sefer Shaarei Orah. 	Sefer Shamayim Chadashim is a commentary by the Abarbanel on Part 2, Chapter 19 of the Rambam's Moreh Nevuchim, a section on which there is no comment in Abarbanel's regular commentary on the Moreh Nevuchim. The main theme of this sefer is the discussion of the world being created from nothing, Creatio Ex Nihilo, as opposing to creation from ever existing matter. In this sefer, Abarbanel also explains the meaning of Shechinah, Divine Presence, and the purpose of creation. As Abarbanel states himself, this sefer took him only one month to complete, begining on Erev Purim, 5258 and completing it on 15th of Nissan of the same year. 	Gishmei Beracha is a commentary on the Five Megilos: Shir HaShirim, Rus, Eicha, Koheles, and Ester, by the great Rav Baruch HaLevi Epstein, the author of the Torah Temimah on Chumash, and the son of the Aruch HaShulchan. Tosefes Beracha is a supercommentary on the commentary Megilas Sefer on the Five Megilos written by Rav Michel HaLevi Horowits. This is the first and only edition of these seforim. Tosefes Bracha has also been printed during the same printing under a different title, Avodaas HaLeviim (see p. 107 of Gishmei Bracha). Printing under the title Avodas HaLeviim includes Megilas Sefer in the back. 	Rashi, by E.M. Lipschutz is the best existing biography about Rashi, Rabeinu Shlomo Yitzchaki, and has been personally recommended by Rabbi Berel Wein. This is the first and only edition of this sefer, by Henry Malter, published in the Jewish Quarterly Review journal (Vol .1 1910/1911), from the only existing manuscript. This edition includes and English introduction and notes. 	Sefer HaMaalos is a discussion of various degrees of intellectual perfection by R' Shem Tov Ben Yosef Falaquera. It is one of the earlier works on ethics (mussar). This is the first edition of this sefer. It includes an essay in German about the sefer by Dr. Venetianer, printed at the end of the book.
